Rupert Murdoch’s 21st Century Fox on Wednesday revealed it had increased a takeover offer for pan-European TV group Sky, valuing the group at ยฃ24.5 billion ($32.5 billion, 27.7 billion euros) and trumping Comcast’s rival offer.
Fox’s improved bid for the 61 per cent of Sky it is yet to own beats an offer of ยฃ22 billion from US cable giant Comcast for the whole of the satellite TV group.
