We want Adeboye to speak on RUGA, says Eedris Abdulkareem, others as they storm RCCG camp [Video]
Veteran musicians Eedris Abdulkareem and Baba Fryo on Monday led a protest to the redemption camp of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway against the implementation of the suspended RUGA settlement scheme by the federal government.
The Federal Government last Wednesday suspended the planned RUGA settlement programme following outrage and criticism from some State Governors and other Nigerians.
Staging a protest at the RCCG camp on Monday, the protesters, who are against the planned Ruga settlement, are demanding the General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye to intervene and speak up against the planned scheme.
“We are against the planned Ruga settlement and we are saying no to Fulani herdsmen settlement in our land and we are here to see Baba Adeboye who is our father.
“We love him so much and we want him to speak, it is important for him to speak, I’m here with Baba Fryo and others. Baba must speak because he has spoken about COZA and we want him to speak about RUGA.
“We don’t want Ruga settlement, we are tired of the killings. If anybody is making money from this government, we are not giving a damn about it”
The musicians and other protesters carried placards with inscriptions like “Adeboye would you have kept quiet if Leah Sharibu was your biological daughter?”
They all wore shirts with the inscription “Adeboye speak up for Leah Sharibu”
