Rivers police recover IED at LNG facility
Rivers State Police Command has disclosed that it recently recovered some Improvised Explosive Device , IED, fabricated with large mass of dynamite at a LNG pipeline in the state.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Omoni Nnamdi, who disclosed this on Monday in a statement, said the Police recovered the IEDs when they foiled attempt by some hoodlums to blow up an unnamed LNG pipeline in the state.
He said the substance which was recovered on Thursday has been diffused by the Explosive Ordinance Department , EOD of the Police.
The police officer said the Police also arrested a notorious kidnapper who was allegedly among those that ambushed and killed an ASP and two other policemen recently.
DSP Nnamdi said the Police also engaged two robbers in a fierce gun battle in Etche local government area with two of them escaping with gunshot injuries.
The Police image maker appealed for timely information from the public to enable the Police discharge its duty effectively.
