The Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Ngozi Odu, has officially enrolled as a member of the All Progressives Congress.

Odu carried out her registration in her ward at Akabuka town, Ward 8, Unit 11, in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of the state.

After completing the process, the deputy governor sang “On Your Mandate We Shall Stand,” a song widely linked to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as party supporters gathered at the venue watched.

Her move to the APC comes a few weeks after Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the ruling party following a meeting with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Fubara was later registered as an APC member by the party’s Rivers State chairman, Tony Okocha, who said the exercise was conducted based on a directive from the party’s national secretariat.

Meanwhile, the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, has announced Governor Fubara as the leader of the party in Rivers State, as political alignments continue to shift in the oil-producing state.
