A yet to be identified young man was on Wednesday shot dead in broad daylight in a renewed cult clash in Cross River State.
The victim who works as a security guard is alleged to be a cult member and was attacked by a rival cult group close to a bank in Calabar, the state capital.
The deceased was brutally murdered by his assailants.
Recall that a previous cult clash recently claimed the lives of two youths in Calabar South and Calabar Municipal. The victims were alleged to be members of Klans and Axe group.
It was gathered that Klans members killed an Axeman and the next morning a reprisal attack from the Axe group also claimed the life of a Klans member.
However, concerned residents in Calabar metropolis have called on the state government and security agencies to curb the menace of cultism as well as halt the senseless killings.
