Remember Nigeria in your Ramadan prayers, Lawan urges Muslims
As the wait for Ramadan crescent continues, Senate President, Ahmad Lawan on Tuesday charged all Muslim faithful to pray for the country against its numerous security challenges.
Lawan made the statement in the Ramadan message signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Ola Awoniyi, titled ‘Senate President urges peace, national unity and prayers for Nigeria during Ramadan.’
While welcoming Muslims to the month of Ramadan, Lawan stressed the need for peace, love and national unity amidst the challenges of insecurity, terrorism, banditry as well as ethnic clashes amongst others which aim to destroy the unity of Nigeria.
“I urge us to remember our dear country in our prayers as we seek to overcome the challenges we are facing as a nation.
“This is in the realisation that Allah is the Almighty, kind and greater than all human problems.
“I enjoin us to stress the importance of peace, love, generosity and unity in our teachings during this sacred period.
“We should also not let down our guards in the observance of COVID-19 non-pharmaceutical protocols in our spiritual and other activities during the Holy Month,” Lawan said.
