Published

Defending champions Real Madrid suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Alaves on Saturday night at the Alfredo di stefano Stadium.

Zinadine Zidane’s side went behind earlier in the first half after an Alaves header, from a corner kick, hit the arm of Madrid’s defender, Nacho.

Striker, Lucas Perez beat Thibaut Courtois with the penalty despite the Belgian goalkeeper going the right way.

TheWhite Angels suffered another setback later in the game as they let in another goal, this time, from open play.

A huge mistake by Courtois who tried to play a pass out to Casemiro, but got it all wrong as the ball went straight to Joselu, who just slid the ball into  the back of the net 20 yards out.
The home side were able to pull one back through Brazillian midfielder, Casemiro, but to was not enough to salvage a point for Zidane’s men.
Alaves’ keeper, parried a Vinicius Jr’s shot but the ball landed in front of Casemiro who was allowed to tap it in easily in the 86th-minute.
Isco fired a final show before the whistle went off but was unfortunate as the ball hit the woodwork. The ref blew the final whistle to end the game at 2-1.
