The former Chairman of the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Lauretta Onochie, on Thursday, said the presidential ambition was beyond what the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, deserved.

She also faulted the former Anambra State governor’s Wednesday press briefing, saying the presidential hopeful will not be declared Nigeria’s president.

Onochie’s response came in the wake of Obi’s demand that President Bola Tinubu should reveal his true identity, particularly in connection to the controversy surrounding his (Tinubu’s) academic records from Chicago State University.

In a social media post on Thursday, Onochie said Obi had no chance of becoming the President of Nigeria.

She stated, “Go home, Peter. You will never be declared president of our great nation. Apart from the simple fact that you came a distant third, you don’t deserve to lead our nation. Your temperament and disposition are not the attributes needed to lead a diverse nation such as Nigeria.

Onochie also criticized Obi’s leadership style, asserting that under his leadership as the governor of Anambra, the South-East region had experienced turmoil and significant economic and property damage, which she referred to as a “war zone.”

She added, “You failed Anambra. You can’t even lead the South-east! Under your nose, the South-east became a war zone. A once vibrant economy built on hard work was destroyed. Lives and properties are ruined. Shelf your desperation. Your ambition is beyond what you deserve. It will never come to pass.”

Furthermore, Onochie ridiculed Obi’s request for Tinubu’s to disclose his identity, describing it as as the “most idiotic request”.
