The police in Katsina have launched a manhunt for nine men who allegedly gang-raped a ten-year-old girl repeatedly at Maigora village in Faskari local government area of the state.
The spokesman for the Katsina police command, SP Gambo Isah, confirmed the development on Wednesday.
He said
”I want to confirm that the police have taken over the investigation and effort is on top gear to arrest the suspects.”
Although details on the girl and how the incident happened were yet to be released due to ongoing investigation, it was learnt that the nine men were all married.
It was also learnt that the victim’s father made the discovery and reported the incident to community leaders before police intervention.
Attempts to get the father’s comments on the incident were unsuccessful as enquiries were directed to the community leaders who also said only the police could speak on it.
