A larger percentage of residents living in Ogun State on Saturday defied the stay-at-home restriction put in place by the State Government to encourage voters to turn out en masse for the Local Government poll for councillors and chairmen.

As early as 7:00 am, several vehicles and commercial motorcyclists were seen driving by, just as traders put up their wares in major cities and towns in the state.

DAILY POST reported that many residents currently go about their normal businesses, especially In Abeokuta, the State capital, Lafenwa and Rounder areas, where markets were partially opened with traders displaying their wares.

In a related development, security agents are making frantic efforts to enforce the restriction order.

At various roadblocks mounted by soldiers, policemen, and traffic regulatory agents, there were long queues of vehicles stopped for defying the sit-at-home directive.
