Veteran Nigerian entertainer and activist Charles Oputa, widely known as Charly Boy or Area Fada, has appealed to fans and well-wishers to support his wife with prayers and good wishes as she begins her recovery following a major surgical procedure.
The singer made the appeal in a heartfelt message shared on his X and Instagram accounts on the night of October 9, 2026. According to his post, his wife underwent the operation two days earlier and has since made an encouraging start to her recovery.
Accompanying his message was a video showing his wife walking with the aid of crutches. Charly Boy explained that although she had already managed to get back on her feet, she would need to relearn how to walk, stressing the importance of patience as she gradually regains her mobility.
The entertainer encouraged his wife to take her recovery one step at a time, urging her not to put herself under pressure to heal quickly. He emphasised the importance of recognising even the smallest signs of improvement, noting that each milestone would contribute to her progress.
Reflecting on their life together, Charly Boy praised his wife’s resilience and acknowledged the patience she has demonstrated throughout their relationship, particularly while living with his unconventional personality. He also reminded her that being strong does not mean handling every challenge alone, adding that rest, self-compassion and the willingness to keep trying are equally important during recovery.
In his emotional message, the Area Fada expressed confidence that his wife would eventually regain her ability to walk confidently, assuring her of the support and encouragement of those around her. He wrote: “My love, one step at a time. I know you will get back on your feet, and when you do, you will look back at this moment and smile at how far you have come. My baby went through a major surgery 2days ago, she’s already on her feet, cause she has to relearn how to walk again. Don’t be in a hurry. Take your time, trust the process, and celebrate every little progress you make. Every step counts, no matter how small it seems. You have always been a strong woman, living with the madness dats Charlyboy, but remember, strength is not just about doing everything on your own. It is also about giving yourself the grace to learn, to rest, and to try again. Keep going, my love. We are cheering you on, and I can’t wait to see you walking confidently again. One day at a time, one step at a time. You’ve got this! My people pls wish my wife well.”
