The administration of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State Government has completed a pedestrian bridge at Berger bus stop, along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

This is coming after persistent calls from residents in the area for a bridge to be constructed across the expressway where many people have lost their lives in the past in an attempt to cross the road.

The completion of the pedestrian bridge has brought relief to residents and motorists in the area as it was immediately put to use once the bridge was declared completed recently.

Since the bridge was opened to the public for use, many pedestrians have been commending Governor Ambode for a job well-done.

One resident of the area, Jimoh Olaogun, who says he is a regular user of the bridge since it was completed, said the footbridge would reduce the number of people killed while trying to cross the expressway.

A motorist, who preferred to be called Samanja, said the construction of the bridge will reduce traffic gridlock along the expressway, and as a result halt the fall back on the 3rd Mainland which may extend to the Oworonshoki end of the axis.
