The Peoples Democratic Party in Cross River State has credited the cohesion and progress it currently enjoys to the continued support and leadership of its national leader and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as well as its presidential candidate, Prof. Sandy Onor.

The state PDP chairman, Venatius Ikem, said the two leaders had created opportunities for party members to contribute to the organisation by serving in various capacities.

Ikem made the remarks in a message marking five years in office for members of the State Executive Committee who returned for a second term. He described the various responsibilities entrusted to members as experiences that had shaped their political careers while reinforcing their commitment to the party.

The chairman congratulated members of the committee on the anniversary and recognised the challenges, experiences and sacrifices that had defined their years of service to the party.

According to him, members had remained steadfast despite the difficulties encountered during their tenure, working collectively to sustain the activities and visibility of the PDP in the state.

Ikem also stressed that every responsibility assigned to members had contributed to the overall strength of the party, regardless of the size or level of the position occupied by an individual.

He said the State Executive Committee remained bound by a shared commitment to struggle, sacrifice and service, adding that the experiences accumulated over the years had broadened members’ perspectives and strengthened the bonds established among them.

The committee, in reflecting on its five-year journey, expressed gratitude to God for the challenges it had faced, saying the experiences provided important lessons and created opportunities to meet individuals whose contributions had positively influenced members’ lives.

The State Executive Committee also appreciated party members, supporters and stakeholders for their continued encouragement and support, while congratulating all members on reaching the anniversary milestone.
