Patience Jonathan: She’s the female version of Abacha, Nigerians react as court orders forfieture of N9.2bn, $8.4m
The ruling of a Federal High Court in Lagos ordering the forfeiture of the sums of N9.2 billion and $8.4 million linked to accounts belonging to the wife of former President, Dame Patience Jonathan, has sparked reactions on social media.
WuzupNaija reported that Justice Mojisola Olatoregun of the Federal High Court in Lagos today ordered the former First Lady to forfeit the billions of naira and millions of dollars to the Federal Government.
The report evoked several reactions on Twitter with as Nigerians slammed the former First Lady for amassing so much money to herself while her husband was President.
Some Twitter users described her as the female version of former Military Head of State, Sani Abacha, who was adjudged to have laundered huge amount of money out of the country while he ruled the country.
Since his demise over two decades ago, huge funds starched in foreign accounts by Abacha are still being discovered and recovered by the Nigerian government.
See some of the reactions:
Patience Jonathan was wife of the President for only 5 years. 10 billion naira + $8.4m is a lot of money. Could have invested this money in 5 Universities and we’d see noticeable change. Come on.

The Naira value linked to Patience Jonathan is over 3 trillion (NGN 3,032,400.000). This money can comfortably build about 151 state of the art primary healthcare centres ? in the 36 states & FCT or provide vaccines for over 2 million kids? @AsoRock @officialEFCC @PHCareNigeria https://t.co/lyd3Y8vwRi

AS long as Abacha remains in the grave and Patience Jonathan remains a living soul here, Nigeria purse cannot run dry.
Abacha sends from the great beyond, Patience Jonathan doubles it in the land of the living……

Abachress…The thing keeps coming.
The Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday ordered the forfeiture of ex-First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan’s $8.4 million and N9.2 billion to the FG.
Justice Mojisola Olatoregun held that d money is reasonably suspected to be proceeds of crime.
