Pastor Adeeyo didn’t divorce wife of 30 years before marrying choir mistress – Son
Peter Adesoji Adeeyo, son of Pastor Moses Adeeyo – the General Overseer of the World Bank Assembly in Eneka, Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, says his father never divorced his mother before tying the nuptial knot with his new wife.
In a series of videos uploaded on social media, Adeeyo’s son said that his parents are yet to dissolve their marriage of over 30-years, adding that he refused to accept his father’s new marriage.
The news of Adeeyo’s marriage went viral on social media some days ago when a purported church member identified as Bright Ben accused him of snatching his wife of over a decade, Tina after she was made the assistant choir mistress in the ministry.
Married with two kids, Bright alleged that their marriage started receiving the heat when Tina took up the role at the church after 12 years of marriage and went AWOL (though he didn’t specify when she left the house).
According to Bright, in his quest to locate his wife’s whereabouts, he called Adeeyo to seek advice on his rocky marriage but to his surprise, he discovered Tina’s whereabouts on Sunday when he saw photographs of her remarriage with their pastor.
“My wife was given an immediate appointment (assistant choir mistress) seven months ago. She moved out of the house with our children before I got back from work. I searched everywhere and called everyone, even the general overseer. Unknown to me, the G.O. was the architect of my problems.
Tina tells her side of the story
Reacting to Bright’s accusation, Tina dropped a bombshell that tilted the narrative to her own advantage, leaving social media divided after claiming that she left her husband over alleged assault and maltreatment.
She said, “Bright wants to make me look like a bad woman on social media. When we were together, he made me incur a lot of debts that I am still paying.
“He accuses me of infidelity and even disallowed me from pursuing my music career. He once told me that there is no marriage between us and that I am just here to take care of his children.
“He promised to make my life miserable, including putting acid in my cream. Now, he’s coming on social media to destroy another man’s name. It is my time to shine.
“He is lying that he doesn’t know my whereabouts. I left his house after he locked me inside the house and kept the keys in his pocket. It was then I packed my things and told him it was over…”
Pastor Adeeyo’s son calls the union a sham
Peter Adesoji Adeeyo, however, admitted that his parents had a marital issue that doesn’t warrant a divorce but was shocked when he was alerted to the wedding photos circulating on Facebook.
He said, “My parents have been married for over 30 years. To me, my father has not remarried because when you want to remarry, most especially as a pastor, you need to dissolve the current one.
“I was shocked when I saw the wedding pictures online. After I finished ministration in church, three persons called me [to say] ‘you father has married’ and they said I should go to Facebook, then I discovered that it was true…
“The issue is that my parents have normal marital crises but my father decided to go to court. He gave my mother a divorce letter(17th of January 2020), he said he’s tired of the marriage. He said my mother was giving him stress, says my mother used to cook and not give him, she’d rather give to me, a lot of things.”
“So we pleaded o, anywhere we have sinned against you forgive us, But he said no, [hi’s word is final]. My mother was still attending the church but three months ago (while still in court) my father carried my mother’s luggage out of the house and rented a one-room apartment.
“Her lawyer advised against so my mother stayed with me for some time before she travelled to Abuja to stay with her younger sister. My mother is still in Abuja before we heard that my father is married, to me my father has not yet married o, I don’t know any woman as his second wife.”
