#ParadeKoladesKillers: Activists, concerned Nigerians tell police force
Some concerned Nigerians have taken to Twitter to demand that the Nigeria police force parade the killers of Mr Kolade Johnson, a football enthusiast who was shot dead on Sunday by some operatives of the Special Anti-Cultism Squad of the Lagos State Police Command on Sunday.
Recall that WuzupNaija had reported that the yet to be identified officers stormed Olu Aboderin Street in the Onipetesi area of Lagos while Kolade Johnson was watching a live English Premiership League football match between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
The deceased was reportedly shot accidentally by SARS officers who had been pursuing another man at the football viewing centre.
This brutal killing has been widely condemned by alist celebrities, human right activists and social media influencers who have demanded that the culprits must be brought to book.
There has been a public outcry over the killing, with thousands of people using the #EndSARS social media hashtag in the past 24 hours.
Many lambasted the Nigerian police, SARS, and other force agencies for endangering the lives of the citizens they are meant to protect.
Some also narrated similar incidences and opined that the Federal government flush “bad eggs within the Force saying the police needs to make a clear statement by parading them.
The Convener of #EndSARS campaign, Segun Awosanya, @Segalink, had also vowed that Kolade “will not die in vain.”
In a series of tweet, the activist also said “we just obtained the consent the of Late Kolade’s family to represent them and we will be filing first thing tomorrow. The case will be expedited. @AbdulMahmud01 & @citizen_gavel are on this and we always win. #EndImpunity #ReformPoliceNG #JusticeForKolade.”
One OurFavOnlineDoctor @DrOlufunmilayo said;
“The Nigerian Police should know an open parade and display of Kolade’s killers is the minimum FIRST step to taking responsibility for his murder.
“Armed murderers are bad eggs within the Force and the Police needs to make a clear statement by parading them.#ParadeKoladesKillers.
“The men who killed Kolade deserve no respect they never accorded anybody especially the man they killed, his mother they rendered childless and his child they rendered fatherless.
“Keeping them anonymous is the reason SARS continues to behave like animals.”
However, one Twitter user identified as The Accountant@AfolabiAdedoyin said the SARS officers should not be paraded because it would endanger the families and relatives of the culprits.
“I disagree on this one, this may put lifes of the family & relative in danger of the accused in danger, my own take is investigations and arriangment to court should be swift.
“This will serve as a enough deteriants to other trigger happy officers.
“have never been in support of police parading suspects they’re still innocent till proving otherwise,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Police said they have arrested a team of personnel allegedly involved in the killing, claiming that the officers were not of the SARS unit, but of the Anti Cultism unit.

Nigerians normalize evil because they don’t want “wahala” they can’t afford to do cases and they fear that justice may never be served because of our apocalyptic criminal justice system. This is where we come in. We represent for free with @citizen_gavel No more bullying by Cops.

We are self funded Distinguished. It works better for us this way to avoid the distractions of impoverished detractors worshipping Baal and seeking to destroy any ray of hope out there.

One major sign of everything that is wrong with this country is the most evident in its Police Force….the only agency that no Nigerian has ever reposed any confidence in yet they keep on giving us reasons why we should see them still in that ignoble light #ParadeKoladesKillers

But you know sometimes we also tell police to stop parading people cos they’re presumed innocent until proven otherwise. How do we reconcile that with this? Or are we saying don’t adjudg them guilty already like having the sit on the floor before cameras?#ParadeKoladesKillers

Saddest reality is that, Kolade will quietly go like others that have gone.. And absolutely nothing will happen.. The impunity Of the @PoliceNG is an insult to the citizenry on this land.. We should be free to dress however we want#ParadeKoladesKillers #EndSars #PoliceBrutality

Why internal? Why not make public scapegoats out of them so the others learn accountability. If they don’t value our lives because they should, let them value it for fear of the consequences. #JusticeForKolade https://t.co/EMPTe4mI7Z

Just as you paraded Evans and other criminals, @PoliceNG parade Kolade’s killer…We seek justice from ur institution even if you going to pretend to the public that you stand for the it, we won’t mind.
We all know what you stand for#ParadeKoladesKillers— Emiola David (@EmirateDboss) April 2, 2019
More Kolades will die in this era of less and less low hanging fruits. Frustrated policemen who can no longer sustain their fake lives. God please protect the Kolades out there. #ParadeKoladesKillers

Every time I attempt to cheer up since yesterday, the thoughts of the unjust killing of Kolade Johnson keeps flashing my mind.
I don’t know him b4,imagine how his relatives would be feeling presently.
His life was cut short, his offense is being a NIGERIAN#ParadeKoladesKillers

Anywhere we see the SARS operatives stop anyone, we should try and stop, pull over, cause a scene there, make sure nothing happens to the person. We should be our own first aid. #askthepolice #EndPolicebrutality #EndSARS #JusticeForKolade #ParadeKoladesKillers

Well, to add some credibility to it’s alleged arrest of Kolade Johnson’s killers, the PoliceNG must #ParadeKoladesKillers
This should not even be negotiated!!! #EndSARS

If our police are allowed to dress like this, and they arrest citizens that they see dress in such manner, something is wrong
Moreover who will see these group of people & not mistaken them for harmed robbers #EndSARS #ParadeKoladesKillers @PoliceNG @segalink @bukolasaraki pic.twitter.com/Nd2MFzvknF— Edenlife healthy living (@iamhawler) April 2, 2019

Just like you parade other criminals
We are asking the @PoliceNG to parade the killers of #KoladeJohnson
Justice must prevail #ParadeKoladesKillers#ParadeKoladesKillers— MONEY~ BAG (@anointedTalker) April 2, 2019
The murder of Kolade Johnson is somewhat unfortunate and very tragic. This leaves me to wonder the reform @ProfOsinbajo did with Nigerian Sars. We are so fucked up in this country tbh. Our leaders are equally a joke!!#ParadeKoladesKillers #ENDSARS #EndPolicebrutality pic.twitter.com/VEd2PgQzpS

If you think police is your friend, you’re a dead man walking.
With gun in their hands, life has no value to them
Let us all stand as one & tell these heartless police that they are employed to protect our lives & properties, not extort & kill us untimely #ParadeKoladesKillers— Edenlife healthy living (@iamhawler) April 2, 2019
The police keep concealing the identities of their killer men but parade civilians publicly, the intention is clearly to release them secretly for the cycle of killings to continue.#ParadeKoladesKillers #ENDSARS EndSARSNOW

When the common man is apprehended for whatever crime, they get paraded as ‘suspects’.
It’s only fair and transparent to do same to the SARS officials that killed Kolade Johnson. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. #ParadeKoladesKillers #ENDPOLICEBRUTALITY

I believe Kolade's killer should be paraded just as other suspected criminals are being paraded. This is where justice starts from.
Anything aside this means justice is about to be denied. The killers were fortunate they weren't lynched in the first place. pic.twitter.com/MOnfYQ8zcF— YUNG_KARO?? (@yungk_official) April 2, 2019

Make an example out of them, release their names to the public, put their pictures up…we've heard this "internal investigation" stunt before. A human being is dead for crying out loud https://t.co/il0pqtWnhU— GIDƎON (@tha_Gidi) April 2, 2019
