A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has urged leaders and members of the party to unite ahead of the August 15 governorship election in the state.

According to The Punch, Oyintiloye made the appeal in a statement issued on Sunday in Osogbo, stressing that internal cohesion would be crucial to securing victory for the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.

The former member of the Osun State House of Assembly warned party members against actions capable of weakening the APC’s chances at the polls.

He cautioned against “bitterness, careless remarks, unguided utterances and anti party activities,” saying such conduct could undermine the party’s electoral prospects.

“It will be a costly mistake for the party to go into the election divided. Unity and a common purpose are essential for victory,” Oyintiloye said.

The APC chieftain also called on party elders and leaders to address grievances among members and resolve lingering disputes before the election.

“No divided house can win a battle. That is why I am appealing to all members to come together and resolve whatever differences we have. APC is cruising to victory,” he added.

Oyintiloye described Oyebamiji as a strong and marketable candidate capable of winning the governorship poll and urged members to rally behind him.

He expressed confidence that the party would return to power in Osun State with the support of prominent APC leaders, including Bisi Akande, Gboyega Oyetola, Ajibola Bashiru, and Iyiola Omisore.

The appeal comes amid reports of internal disagreements within the party following recent primary elections.

The Punch reports that Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi recently rejected the outcome of the APC primary election in which Adekunle Adegoke was declared the winner.
