Oliver Glasner named new Crystal Palace manager
Crystal Palace has announced the appointment of Oliver Glasner as their new manager, succeeding Roy Hodgson, who stepped down from his role before Monday night’s Premier League game against Everton.
Hodgson’s departure followed his illness during training last Thursday, which prompted him to undergo hospital tests. Palace has since confirmed that the 76-year-old is out of the hospital and “doing well.”
In a statement released by the club regarding his departure, Hodgson stated: “I understand, given recent circumstances, it may be prudent at this time for the club to plan ahead, and therefore I have taken the decision to step aside so that the club can bring forward their plans for a new manager, as intended for this summer.”
Following Hodgson’s exit, Palace swiftly confirmed Oliver Glasner’s appointment on a deal until the end of the 2025–2026 season.
