#OleOut: Fans call for Solskjaer’s sack despite United’s scrappy 2-1 win against Brighton

Fans have taken to Twitter to call for the sack of Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, following Sunday night’s scrappy win against Brighton.

Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood scored to spare Solskjaer’s blushes after Brighton took the lead through former Red Devil forward, Danny Welbeck.

United have bagged 25points from losing position so far this season but the unconvincing display in the first half has left a lot of fans fuming on social media.

United appointed Solskjær as caretaker manager, taking over from José Mourinho for the rest of the 2018–19 season.

The Norwegian bagged the permanent coaching role on a three-year contract on 28 March 2019, having won 14 of his 19 matches in charge,  including the famous comeback victory against Paris Saint Germain in France.

The confidence placed in Solskjaer was repaid with a third-place finish in the Premier League last season as they returned to the Champions League.

But to the dismay of the fans, Solskjaer’s achievement was marred with four semi-final losses in two years across all competitions, the latest being the 2-0 loss to local rivals Manchester City in the Carabao Cup, having lost to City at the same stage last season as well.

The hornet’s nest was kicked by United’s sloppy first-half display against Brighton as some fans seem to have had enough of the Old Trafford legend despite maintaining second place in the league with four points clear of third-placed Leicester City.

@RandyscrandyL said Solskjaer need to go despite the win against Brighton.

He said, “The result doesn’t even matter. Whether we come back and win or draw is this really what you want to watch for another few years hoping the clown gets it right? Are you sure you want this?

“I know I f**king don’t. Enough is enough. #OleOut”

Another user, @Hayce_of_Naija opined that United need a consistent manager other than the Norwegian.

“Enough of all these “patch patch” wins for man united oo. I’m pretty sure Ole is still gonna flop. We want a consistent manager… #OleOut,” he tweeted.

@JonnyFX1 thinks United is a joke under Solskjaer as they are far behind their rivals, Manchester City.

“City are 17 pts clear but apparently united are making progress! Maybe by 2030 we will of closed the gap!

“I’m so over this shit I swear to god, don’t anyone tell me this is a united team and don’t anyone this is entertaining!! Go f**k yourselves!!!! #Oleout” he wrote.
