Flying Eagles midfielder, Daniel Daga, has been cleared of sexual assault allegations after the Frostating Court of Appeal in Norway acquitted him of the charge.

The case sidelined the 19-year-old for 11 months, preventing him from featuring for his club during the legal proceedings.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Molde FK confirmed that Daga is now eligible for selection once again, adding that the club is awaiting the final judgment in the matter.

The midfielder had earlier been convicted by the Romsdal District Court, which sentenced him to six months in prison after finding him guilty of sexually assaulting a woman.

The court also directed him to pay NOK 10,000 in legal costs.

Daga has represented Nigeria at the FIFA U-20 World Cup, featuring for the Flying Eagles at the 2023 and 2025 editions of the tournament.
