Former Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate, Whitney Chukwu, popularly known as Nomy, has apologized to her fans after her disqualification from the ‘Show Ya Sef’ edition of the reality TV show, saying she regrets the circumstances that brought her stay in the house to an early end.
Nomy made her first public comments about the development during a recent X Space session, where she expressed gratitude to her supporters for remaining behind her despite her abrupt departure. She admitted that knowing the level of support she had outside the house might have influenced how she conducted herself during the competition.
“I am sorry to anyone whom I have let down. It wasn’t intentional,” she said.
“If I had known I had this much support waiting for me at home, I would have done everything that I could to get to the finale, but I guess it was just meant to work out this way.”
The former housemate also acknowledged the encouragement she received from viewers throughout her time on the programme, noting that their support helped make her experience memorable despite the unexpected outcome.
“I am sorry for letting you down, and I am fine,” she said.
“Thank you for checking on me. Thank you for supporting me, even when you didn’t have to. I am so blessed to have you guys, and I just want to say thank you. I can’t wait to speak and see each and every one of you.”
She added: “You guys have made this whole experience worth it for me. It will not have worked out the way I wanted it to or the way you guys wanted it to, but I am so happy to have you.”
Nomy’s remarks came two days after she was removed from the Season 11 house by Big Brother over repeated violations of his instructions, rules and imposed punishments.
The reality star had previously been issued a final strike after several instances of disregarding Big Brother’s directives, alongside concerns over tardiness and her selective involvement in house activities. Her continued breach of the rules despite the final warning eventually resulted in her disqualification.
Following the decision, Nomy was allowed 30 minutes to gather her belongings and exit the house, abruptly ending her pursuit of the ₦160 million grand prize.
Her final violation was reportedly linked to the Benchwarmer punishment imposed after a Head of House challenge, coming after earlier warnings over her conduct and failure to comply with instructions.
The 2026 edition of Big Brother Naija premiered on July 26 with 24 housemates competing for a record N160 million grand prize, which is the largest prize in the history of the reality TV show.
