Nollywood actor Kingsley Orji has made a heartfelt appeal for financial assistance on behalf of renowned actor Amaechi Muonagor, who urgently requires a kidney transplant procedure in India.

Taking to his Instagram account, Orji, a colleague of Muonagor in the Nollywood industry, shared the dire situation faced by the veteran actor due to financial constraints. Muonagor recently left the hospital but is still in need of urgent medical attention.

Speaking in both Igbo and English, Orji emphasized the severity of Muonagor’s condition, highlighting its impact on his speech and overall health. He pleaded with fans and well-wishers to come forward and contribute towards the costs of the much-needed transplant surgery.

Orji explained, “It has not been easy. He has been in this condition for months now. He wants to go for a kidney transplant. What we want is for you to help us for him to travel to India.”

“He just came back from the ICU in Nnewi Teaching Hospital a couple of days ago. He was responding to treatment but not very well.”

Orji further stressed, “We decided to bring him home because there was no money but it is not advisable. He barely talks well. Please, he needs your help.”

Although the exact amount required for the transplant surgery was not disclosed, Orji provided Amaechi’s bank details and contact information for those willing to contribute.

This plea for support comes after Tony Muonagor, Amaechi’s cousin, revealed in November 2023 that the actor was battling a trifecta of health challenges: kidney disease, diabetes, and stroke.

Muonagor’s condition had deteriorated, leading to regular dialysis sessions and physiotherapy at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital in Nnewi, Anambra.
