Nobody can intimidate me, takeaway Rivers political structure – Wike

Published

The Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday, insisted that he won’t look away when people are trying to hijack what he laboured for.

He said he cannot be intimidated and that no one can take away “our political structures” in Rivers State, adding that the impeachment process initiated by the House of Assembly against Governor Siminalayi Fubara was lawful.

Wike stated this in the ongoing meeting with the Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum. The PDP governors were led to the reconciliatory meeting by their Chairman, Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed.

“No body can intimidate me, if I want to do something I will do it. Impeachment is lawful process. Nobody can take away our political structure. I have listen to them. For me, you can not work and people bring enemies that fought you when you are struggling to bring them to office. I will not take it,” Wike, the immediate past Rivers state governor, told the governors.

PDP governors are meeting with Wike, following their meeting on Tuesday, as part of efforts to intervene in the ensuing crisis in Rivers over claims that the minister was behind the impeachment plot against Fubara.
