A former housemate of Big Brother Naija Shine Ya Eye edition, Arinola Olowoporoku, popularly known as Arin, says women who smoke or have tattoos should not be criticized or regarded as irresponsible.

In an interview with Sunday Scoop, Arin stated, “Women who smoke should not be judged. I make it a point not to have opinions… especially peoples’ personal lives that do not affect anyone else or the bigger picture. Women who smoke should not be judged at all.

“Also, there is no big deal about having tattoos. People without tattoos on their bodies can also be irresponsible. Having tattoos says nothing specific about one other than the fact that one has tattoos. On my part, I use nose rings because I love to express myself at every chance I get, whether through my appearance, my work, my ideas or associations. I have always wanted jewellery in the oddest places on my body, so I did just that. There is nothing more to it.”

Opening up on her endeavours, she said, “Before going for BBN, I worked as a freelance art curator, cultural producer and creative director of fashion brand, Nola Black, and since my exit from the competition, I have continued to curate and create. Besides curating, I work as a creative director for multiple fashion brands. I am also working as a cultural producer, and I have to do many things such as writing, creative design and curating cultural events.

“I am going into the movie industry. I am an aspiring scriptwriter and I have written a few stories but none have made it to the big screen yet. I also co-wrote the first and biggest production we had in the Big Brother house. I am most passionate about making costume designs for the music industry by designing iconic pieces for artistes’ performances and music videos. All I will be doing would be big things, and my lovely ‘amazons’ with thorough insight and balanced reasoning will always support whatever I do. They loved me while I was the most unpopular(in the house) and they will love me now,” she said.

As regards her relationship status, she said, “I am not in any relationship. Let me even start with having a boyfriend first. No man is ideal, and I also do not think that the issue of having a relationship is worthwhile or necessary.”
