[ICYMI] NNPC denies fuel price adjustment
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has refuted rumors circulating on social media regarding the purported reduction of pump prices for petrol and diesel.
In a statement issued by NNPCL spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye, the company dismissed the claims as false and urged Nigerians to disregard them completely.
The misinformation, which surfaced on various social media platforms on Tuesday and Wednesday, suggested that NNPCL had lowered the pump price of petrol below N600 and diesel below N900.
Addressing the speculations, Soneye stated, “The NNPC Limited wishes to clarify rumours suggesting a price adjustment for Premium Motor Spirit and Automotive Gas Oil at its retail stations nationwide. The company asserts that these reports are false and urges Nigerians to disregard them entirely.”
Furthermore, the NNPC reiterated its commitment to maintaining the current sufficiency in petroleum products supply across all its retail stations nationwide.
