“I would like to resign my position as the Chairman of the Northern Senators forum. This is, of course, necessitated by unfolding events in the National Assembly, the North, and the nation at large,” the letter stated.

Expressing gratitude to the members of the forum for the opportunity given to him to lead for the past eight months, Ningi emphasized the significance of the forum in fostering the progress and development of Northern Nigeria.

Ningi’s resignation comes amid allegations that N3.7 trillion allocated in the 2024 national budget could not be accounted for in terms of specific projects or locations.
