Nigerians react to social media influencer’s alleged suicide, hours after desperate appeal for financial aid
A popular social media personality, who actively contributed to Twitter debates until hours ago, has allegedly committed suicide.
His sudden demise came as a rude shock to many who confessed that they did not fathom that his desperate appeal for financial assistance would be his last.
Identified simply as Tunde, his Twitter handle @Tuneri has well over one million followers.
In his last tweet before the unfortunate incident, the young man made a passionate request for financial aid to attend to a pressing issue.
“I need money like mad, Jesus,” he tweeted.
The request was greeted by some sarcastic innuendoes from most of his followers who did not take him seriously.
Nothing was heard again about the social media personality after the tweet.
This morning, Tunde began trending as friends took to the platform to break the news about his suicide.
This led to a conversation that harps on the need to reach out to people especially familes, friends and loved ones.

“Going through tunde’s TL, while he was in need badly, he was still praying and encouraging other people in the same situation. Rest well tuned.”
“Omo, seems Tunde was an amazing guy going by all the tributes. It’s not a time for think pieces. Let’s pray for his family and loved ones at this very difficult time. Crying face. Rest well big man,” @Osi_Suave tweeted.
