#NigerianMentality: Twitter users share hilarious popular beliefs peculiar to Nigeria
Looking back to the days of childhood as a Nigerian would no doubt bring back some memories one cannot but laugh about as an adult.
Aside from the thorough discipline Nigerian parents are known to instill in their kids, there are some common beliefs they pass on to their children to create fear in them in order not to engage in some acts or to make them act in some desired ways.
It is quite amazing that these popular sayings are only peculiar to Nigeria, if such sayings are found beyond the shores of the country, then a Nigerian must have exported them.
These commonly believed sayings are known to have guided the behavior of many Nigerian children. But are they true? While some may actually be true but exaggerated, many have turned out to be as false as the popular belief that a female child automatically becomes pregnant by talking to a boy.
To relish the memory of their childhood lived under the fear of these popular beliefs, some Nigerians have taken to Twitter to share some of these beliefs and they are quite hilarious.
The tweets have made #NigerianMentality a top trending topic on Twitter in Nigeria.
