Guinness World Records has officially recognised a concert staged by Dapper Live & Artists in Lagos as the record holder for the largest orchestra assembled for an Afrobeats performance.
The achievement was announced on Tuesday through the organisation’s X account, accompanied by a video highlighting moments from the event.
The concert featured performances by Fuji icons King Saheed Osupa and KS1 Malaika alongside several Afrobeats stars.
In the post, Guinness World Records wrote, “Largest orchestra for an Afrobeats concert – 85 musicians by Dapper Live & Artists @DapperMusicEnt_. This attempt took place at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos, Nigeria in December 2025 and was staged as a live orchestral performance based on an Afrobeats composition.
“Led by a conductor, the concert featured a lead singer, an accompanying choir, dancers, and 85 musicians performing in coordination. The event showcased how Afrobeats and orchestral music can seamlessly blend,” the post read.
The record-setting event, titled Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience, took place on December 16, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos.
The concert featured a lineup of performers, including T.I Blaze, Rybeena, Bhadboi OML, Kashcoming, TML Vibez, Lasmid, Heis Cazulee and Dwillsharmony, who shared the stage with Fuji veterans King Saheed Osupa and KS1 Malaika.
Before the official confirmation from Guinness World Records, the organisers had announced on Instagram that the attempt had been reviewed and verified. They described the concert as a unique blend of Afrobeats, Fuji and orchestral music, saying the production was designed to rewrite the record books.
Dapper Live & Artists is associated with Nigerian music executive Damilola Akinwunmi, popularly known as Dapper. He is also widely recognised for his relationship with celebrity chef and three-time Guinness World Records holder, Hilda Baci.
