Nigerian Idol: Simi replies critics who slammed her judgement on final Top 12 contestants

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, fondly called Simi, has replied critics trolling her choice of judgement over contestants that didn’t make the Top 12 list.
After exhausting auditions and countless twists and turns, young talents such as Gerald, Abigail, Jordan, Itohan, Banty, David Operah, Zadok, Faith, Progress, Debby, Precious, and Joel emerged triumphant, making it to the top 12.
Other contestants who many expected to lit up the Nigerian Idol live stage on Sunday got serious backlash from viewers, who felt they didn’t do well enough.
Bashing the judges in a tweet, @OctaveG4 said; “Simi saying nonsense what’s surprising about her song, someone forgot lyrics and she entered top 12 how come.
@prinz_sammy said; “@Nigerianidol. Time to stop watching ‘Nigerian Idol talents show’ is NOW…
“Dbanj and Simi are both erroneously chosen as judges. How can a lady whose song was termed ‘disaster’ qualified for top 12, while CeeCeeJay that performed was asked to go?
@Amaa_ra said; “Dbanj, Simi and Obi need to give press statement on why saviour didn’t make it to top 12. Even when they were telling him he didn’t make it, they didn’t have any reason. It’s almost as if he didn’t make it because he has a big tummy.
@OkorOtu said; “How did Precious qualify to top 12. A girl that forgot her lyrics totally and even sang off beats and off key. Abeg there’s partiality there.
Reacting to the backlash, the mother of one said; “I see some people mad at us cos your faves didn’t make it through 😭😭 Don’t vex. So many incredible talents this Season and it gets harder as we go, cause they’re all so talented. Everybody is someone’s favourite so I understand”
