Guinness World Records have officially confirmed Nigerian cue sports player Shehu Bamidele as the new world record holder for the longest marathon playing pool by an individual.

Guinness World Records validated his time of 98 hours, 26 minutes, 37 seconds, achieved in Lagos on September 2, 2025.

The attempt was part of POOL FEST NAIJA 2025, an event that drew major names in sports and entertainment. Organisers said the challenge followed all Guinness rules, including continuous play, monitored breaks, professional supervision, and full video records.

Speaking after his confirmation, Bamidele said this achievement was a win for Nigeria, the sport of pool, and young people striving to reach their goals.

POOL FEST NAIJA organisers praised the confirmation and described it as a milestone that will motivate rising cue sports talents across Africa.
