On Tuesday, May 22, 2018, Atletico Madrid defeated the Super Eagles in Uyo to win the GOtv Max Cup.

However, Nigeria scored quality goals through Kelechi Nwakali and Usman Mohammed but fell 3-2 to the visiting Europa League champions.

Atleti lifted the maiden GOtv Max Cup at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium as Angel Correa, Fernando Torres and Borja Garces’ efforts sealed the victory for Diego Simeone’s men.

But despite the loss, football enthusiasts took to their Twitter page to analyse how well the Super Eagles played against Atletico Madrid.

Meanwhile, some loyal Nigerians were pleased with the performance of the players and some foreign-based talents.
