Various reactions have continued to trail Aisha Buhari’s birthday wish for her husband and President, Maj. Gen. Muhamadu Buhari (retd.) on Twitter.

The First Lady had taken to her verified Twitter handle to celebrate her husband as he clocks 77 today and described him as “incorruptible”.

While some users of the microblogging platform hailed her for being ‘a solo warrior’ some others have asked her to stand by him and support him.

Well, some Nigerians seem to think that the First Lady took a swipe at President, Maj. Gen. Muhamadu Buhari (retd.) with her post which read:

“Happy Birthday to MY incorruptible GMB. I wish you Allah’s Guidance Protection and Good Health to continue steering the affairs of our dear nation. Long Live GMB Long Live Federal Republic of Nigeria !”

Two words stand out in Mrs Buhari’s tweet, her use of ‘my’ in caps and the fact that she referred to Buhari as a General has raised concerns among netizens who have camped in the comment section of her tweet to debate the motive behind the two words.

It would seem then that Aisha has pitched her tent with The PUNCH newspaper in addressing Buhari by his military rank.

Recall that a few days ago, PUNCH newspaper in its Editorial said Buhari would be referred to as “President, Maj. Gen. Muhamadu Buhari (retd.)” till further notice.

Reacting to Aisha’s tweet @whoisfrance had this to say: “GMB? I see what you did there mama… Nice PUNCHline”

A Twitter user, @Rhisokwa wrote: “We all saw it, she knows he isn’t a democrat”

Another user, @Greenaetion, tweeted: “GMB= General Muhammadu Buhari. Nice  @MobilePunchline The incorruptible general who loves London hospital & everything foreign than his own country. GMB”
