Veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu has launched an N30m surgery appeal. She did this after spending three weeks in hospital and enduring what she described as unbearable pain.

The “Fuji House of Commotion” star disclosed her condition in an emotional video shared on her Instagram page on Thursday. She said she urgently needs three life-saving surgeries. In addition, she can no longer meet the cost of her treatment without public support.

Speaking from her hospital bed, Nwosu pleaded with her fans, relatives, colleagues and other well-wishers not to abandon her during the health crisis. The actress appeared visibly distressed. She explained that her condition had gone beyond what she could manage privately.

“Please, the pain has gone beyond my control. I need your help. Don’t let me die,” she said.

“I am begging my fans and family. I am going through a lot of pain. I have about three surgeries to undergo.”

Ngozi Nwosu asks public for support

In the caption accompanying the video, the actress admitted that making the appeal publicly was difficult for her. However, she said she could no longer remain silent as her need for medical intervention had become urgent.

Nwosu placed the total cost of the three procedures at ₦30 million. She asked anyone willing to assist to contact her management or legal representative. Furthermore, she encouraged people who could not contribute financially to share the appeal so it could reach more potential donors.

“My fans, friends, family and colleagues, this was really hard for me to do, but I can’t keep quiet anymore,” she wrote.

“I need urgent life-saving surgeries. Please don’t scroll past. Share this post and support if you can.”

Although Nwosu spoke about the severity of her pain, she did not publicly reveal the exact illness for which she requires the procedures.

Actress faced major health battle in 2013

The latest N30m surgery appeal comes more than a decade after Nwosu received widespread support during an earlier health crisis. That crisis involved kidney- and heart-related complications.

In 2013, she travelled to the United Kingdom for medical treatment after friends, colleagues, organisations and other well-wishers helped raise the required funds. In addition, then-Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola donated ₦4.5 million, while supporters raised additional money for her care.

Nwosu later returned to Nigeria following the treatment. Afterwards, she resumed her acting career, continuing to feature in television and film productions.

The actress has remained widely recognised for her role as Peaceful Peace in the popular television comedy “Fuji House of Commotion.” Her career has spanned several decades. Therefore, she is one of the familiar faces of Nigerian television.

As she faces another serious health challenge, Nwosu has appealed for prayers, financial assistance and wider public support. She is doing this while she prepares for the three procedures.
