Wild jubilation erupted in Abuja after the plane conveying the first batch of Nigerians stranded in Ukraine touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

Excited and relieved to be back in the country, WuzupNigeria gathered that the returnees were warmly received by a delegation of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission and government officials.

The development was further confirmed by NIDCOM Chairman, Abike Dabiri, in a tweet via her official Twitter handle.

Dabiri disclosed that they arrived from Romania on Friday morning.

This is even as she released exclusive photographs showing the passengers midway through the journey as well as their arrival in the country.

“First batch of Nigerians from #Ukraine arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja from Romania at 7:10 am,” she tweeted.
