One arrested as Police smash car-snatching syndicate in Sango-Ota

Ogun State Police Command says said its operatives have arrested a 21-year-old armed suspect in connection with a robbery incident at the Sango-Ota area.

Ogun police spokesman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday in Ota, Ogun.

Oyeyemi said the suspect was nabbed on September 14 following a distress call received by the police at about 9.45 p.m.

According to him, the suspect was a member of a two-man car-snatching gang who attacked one Rasaq Hamed at Ile Pupa Iloye area, in Sango-Ota, during a futile effort to dispossess him of his car.

“Upon the information, the Divisional Police Officer, Sango-Ota, CSP Godwin Idehai, quickly mobilized his patrol team and moved to the scene.
