A resurfaced video of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, the man at the centre of the alleged ₦1.3bn “ghost agency” controversy, has emerged online as the scandal surrounding the purported government agency continues to draw attention.
According to Punch Newspapers in a post on X, the video was recorded during a press conference held in late June 2026.
In the video, Adeyemi defended his claim to the leadership of the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council and challenged the position of the Presidency and the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.
Adeyemi questioned how an agency described by the Presidency as non-existent could appear in official budget documents.
“The national budget does not emerge in isolation. It passes through multiple layers of technical drafting, executive coordination, ministerial inputs, Budget Office review, and finally legislative scrutiny by both chambers of the National Assembly,” he said.
The video resurfaced amid ongoing controversy over allegations that Adeyemi operated a fictitious government agency, forged official documents and presented himself as the Director-General of the council.
The Presidency has repeatedly maintained that the agency is fake, while also calling for the prosecution of those allegedly involved in enabling the scheme.
