New police unit to commence training next week – IGP
The Inspector-General of Police IGP Adamu Mohammed has said that the training for the new police unit which will replace the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, will commence next week.
The IGP said this when he was paid a visit by singer Davido at the police force headquarters in Abuja on Monday.
Adamu urged the EndSARS protesters to exercise calm and give the police force to time to fix the problem which they are protesting about.
“We just disbanded yesterday so protesters should calm down and give us time to fix the problem. The general public will be part of the process of getting a new outfit.
“I’m talking to you so I will keep talking to many others and get civil societies involved and get their input towards the new unit,” he said.
