The Navy SpokesmanCommodore Aiwuyor Adams-Aliu, revealed in a statement on Tuesday that Navy firemen were summoned to aid the Federal Fire Service and the National Defence College Fire Service to battle a fierce fire outbreak at UTC Shopping Plaza in Garki, Abuja on Monday.
Adams-Aliu stated, “The Nigerian Navy Firemen, a sub-unit of Naval Headquarters Garki Abuja, were called to action yesterday 15th April, 2024, and helped avert what would have been a massive inferno at the popular UTC Shopping Plaza in Garki.”
He further explained, “An electric spark in one of the plaza shops ignited the fire outbreak with the potential to consume many other shops & properties. However, as the fire surged, the NN Firemen were called in to assist the Federal Fire Service (FFS) and the National Defence College (NDC) Fire Service in fighting the flames.”
