NAFDAC alerts Nigerians on fake powder Dano milk

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has issued a public warning about the presence of counterfeit Arla Dano 14g full cream Milk Powder in various states across Nigeria. 

The agency investigated in collaboration with TG Arla Dairy Product Enterprise, the holder of the registration certificate, revealing that these fake products were openly showcased in the market.

In response to the discovery, NAFDAC has directed its zonal directors and state coordinators to conduct surveillance and eliminate the presence of the counterfeit Arla Dano 14g full cream Milk Powder from markets across the country.

NAFDAC urgently advises distributors, retailers, and consumers to exercise caution and heightened vigilance. 

It emphasizes the need to thoroughly verify the authenticity and physical condition of the product before consumption, sale, or distribution.

Individuals found in possession of the counterfeit Arla Dano 14g full cream Milk Powder are urged to surrender their stock to the nearest NAFDAC office.

Additionally, those who have consumed the product or experienced adverse reactions are strongly recommended to seek immediate medical advice from qualified healthcare professionals.

To ensure public safety, NAFDAC encourages the reporting of any suspicions regarding the distribution and sale of counterfeit or unwholesome packaged food products. 

Reports can be made by contacting the nearest NAFDAC office, calling the NAFDAC helpline (0800-162-3322), or sending an email to [email protected].

Consumers are also encouraged to report adverse events or side effects related to the consumption of unwholesome packaged food products. 

Reporting options include reaching out to the nearest NAFDAC office, using the E-reporting platforms on the NAFDAC website www.nafdac.gov.ng, or utilizing the Med-safety application, available for download on Android and IOS stores.
