NAF airstrikes destroy terrorists, gun trucks in Borno, Zamfara

The Nigerian Air Force has reported that its Air Components of Operations Hadin Kai and Hadarin Daji conducted successful airstrikes, eliminating numerous terrorists and destroying their gun trucks in Borno and Zamfara states.

In a statement released on Sunday, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information for NAF, provided details of the operations.

The airstrikes in Borno targeted a recently identified terrorists’ hideout at Bukar Meram near the Lake Chad region.

These strikes were launched to prevent possible attacks on ground troops and civilians following the terrorists’ relocation from Suwa to the Bukar Meram area.

Gabkwet stated, “Feedback received after the strikes revealed the expected outcome was achieved as several terrorists were neutralized while over 40 motorcycles and six gun trucks were destroyed.”

Similar airstrikes were carried out in Zamfara on October 11 by the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji. The targets were terrorists traveling in a convoy of about 70 motorcycles from Kabaro towards Sangeko. Several terrorists were neutralized, motorcycles destroyed, and others were injured during the operation.

Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of the Air Staff, commended the professionalism and dedication of the air components, saying, “Your efforts and support for the ground troops are commendable. Stay focused and do not be complacent, as we must continue to give our citizens the confidence they deserve to thrive.”
