A 37-year-old woman, Mrs Uju Iwebunor, has been accused of killing her husband to claim for herself his properties.
WuzupNigeria gathered that the incident happened on Thursday at Aniofu Quarters in Ogbe-Ahaba, Issele-Uku community, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Uju was alleged to have murdered her husband, one Uzougbo Iwebunor, in his sleep.
It was gathered that the duo had gone to bed on the day of the incident only for the woman to raise an alarm at midnight that her husband had been murdered.
The police in the state have arrested the woman and said it was investigating the incident. But, the brother of the deceased, Mr Henry Iwebunor, claimed that Uju had a hand in Uzougbo’s death.
He alleged that his brother’s wife had master-minded the death of Uzougbo over the will.
He said,
“My brother had gone to bed with his wife last night but surprisingly to received call this morning that he is dead. I have asked the wife what actually happened but she said that my brother suddenly woke up from sleep, hit his head on the edge of the iron bed and slumped.
“But there is evidence in his body that he was stabbed in between his shoulder and the left side of his neck with knife. All fingers are pointing to her wife because she had been forcing her husband to write his will which had caused much argument to the hearing of the public”
The Police spokesperson in the state, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeys who confirmed the incident, said that women has been arrested while the matter had been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
“The matter is now at the State CID for investigation. It was allegation because nobody saw her killing her husband, and they have not be able to proved that she killed her husband.
“But the woman said that her husband was stabbed in the night and she didn’t recognized who the person was” PPRO.
