Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle, has said he wished that he had attended his daughter’s wedding to Prince Harry today.

Thomas, who was not able to attend the Royal Wedding due to health issues said his daughter, now the Duchess of Sussex, looked beautiful and very happy.

“My baby looks beautiful and she looks very happy. I wish I were there and I wish them all my love and all happiness,” says Thomas.

According to TMZ, Thomas Markle, said that watching the wedding was “emotional and joyful”.

Thomas, who is recovering from heart surgery revealed that he watched the wedding from home in California.

In his absence, Prince Charles had walked Meghan halfway down the aisle.

Thomas is a former television lighting director working on iconic US shows including “Married with Children and General Hospital.”

On May 16, it was reported Thomas had undergone “successful” surgery and was “alert and coherent” following the procedure.

On May 17, Kensington Palace issued a statement on behalf of Meghan Markle, confirming her father would not attend the Royal Wedding.
