Mohbad’s autopsy is being conducted in the US – Coroner
The Lagos Coroner Court, located in Ita-Elewa, Ikorodu, revealed on Wednesday that the critical aspect of an autopsy to determine the cause of death of late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, is being carried out in the United States of America.
O. Akinde, the state counsel, informed Coroner Magistrate Adetayo Shotobi that the autopsy on the deceased’s external body had been completed.
Akinde made this statement in response to the insistence of other counsel, including David Fadimu, representing the deceased’s father, David Nawoola of TNKay Music Worldwide, and O.S.A. Aranmolaran, representing the Nigerian Bar Association Ikorodu.
“The toxicology test, which involves examining the internal body, is being conducted in the US,” he explained.
Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, and was buried in the Ikorodu area of Lagos the following day. Following the public outcry surrounding his death, Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), ordered a forensic investigation to determine the cause of his passing.
In accordance with the IGP’s directive, Idowu Owohunwa, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, formed a 10-person team, including a pathologist, to exhume Mohbad’s corpse and investigate his death.
