Truck crushes Okada rider, two passengers to death in Ibadan
A truck around the Total Garden area of Ibadan the Oyo State capital reportedly crushed an Okada rider and its two passengers to death Wednesday morning.
Witnesses said that the dead victims were on the same motorcycle and the rider whose identity had not been ascertained was trying to overtake the truck when the accident happened.
But a man who claimed to have also witnessed the accident, Yinka, said the accident was not the fault of the motorcyclist.
The accident, however, reportedly led to tension in the area as some youths and Okada riders attempted to set the truck ablaze.
The Oyo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Uche Chukwura, confirmed the accident.
She said, “Three persons died and two were injured in the accident. Our men were there.”
She urged motorists to always drive with caution and ensure that their vehicles were always in good conditions before taking them out.
