Man steals N400,000 motorcycle from Lagos mosque

A 31-year-old man, Isa Mohammed, was on Monday arraigned in a Badagry Magistrates’ court, Lagos State, for allegedly stealing a red Bajaj motorcycle valued N400,000.

Mohamed, without a known address, is standing trial on a count of stealing.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The prosecutor, Asp. Clement Okuoimose told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 3, at 2.00 a.m. at Abanise Mosque, opposite Grammar School, Badagry, Lagos State.

Okuoimose said the defendant allegedly stole one red Bajaj motorcycle with Registration number KSF 175QL belonging to one Mudasiru Ahmed.

“The defendant was caught when planning to sell the stolen motorcycle.

“The offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015,” he said.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Fadahunsi Adefioye, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

The Chief Magistrate adjourned the case until May 10 for mention.
