A secondary school pupil, Kennedy Fundi Nyaga, has died after he was flogged by his Mathematics teacher.

Kennedy’s uncle, one Denis Nyaga, shared details of the incident on his Facebook timeline on Wednesday.

He alleged that Kennedy was thrashed to death by one Mr. Mureithi Mwai, who teaches Mathematics at Kangaru Boys’ Highs School in Kenya.

According to Denis, Kennedy was a bright, orphaned student who was studying under Equity Bank’s “Wings To Fly” programme.

He added that the teacher is still in the school and has been extremely rude and unapologetic when questioned on the matter.

The family is now calling on all relevant authorities to pick the matter up and ensure that Kennedy finds justice before he can finally be laid to rest.

Denis wrote,

R.I.P Kennedy Fundi Nyaga. Kennedy was a form three student at Kangaru school in Embu County. He died after a thorough beating by Maths Teacher Mr. Mureithi Mwai. Kennedy was a total orphan and a bright student he was sponsored by Equity bank wings to fly.

Justice must be done to Kennedy. This is unfair and this barbaric hooliganism of Mr. Mureithi Mwai should stop. Tsc be informed that your employee is a threat to our children. Kennedy, you were a hero. may you rest in peace.
