Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas finally tops chart after almost 30years
After almost 30 years since its release, Mariah Carey’s All I Want FOr Christmas has finally topped am music chart for the very first time.
Carey song has gone back and forth on charts since its release in 1994 which saw it rivalled by another Christmas favourite, East 17’s Stay Another Day.
Although the song is one of the best-loved Christmas songs of all time, it has only ever reached number two in the Official Charts Company UK Top 40.
Carey’s 1994 Christmas single logged 103 weeks on the Official U.K. Singles Chart, with an all-time peak at No. 2, but lost out to Ariana Grande’s Positions in the most recent official charts rankings.
However, All I Want For Christmas found its crown elsewhere this week; namely The Official Big Top 40 – Global Radio’s chart show across its Capital and Heart networks.
Unilad, however, credited Carey’s dedicated fanbase who campaigned via social media to try and get Carey her well-deserved number one.
