Country singer Ella Langley has set a new all-time Billboard chart record, taking the throne from Mariah Carey — though perhaps not for long.
This week, Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” is once again the No. 1 song in the country, a feat it has achieved for 23 straight weeks — something that has never been done before on the Billboard Hot 100 .
Last winter, Mariah Carey reached 22 weeks at No. 1 with “All I Want for Christmas Is You” . That song returned to the top of the charts during the most recent holiday season, and it’s a hit every December, so Langley has her work cut out for her in the weeks to come. If “Choosin’ Texas” can’t rack up a bunch more weeks on the top of the charts, Langley may soon find herself regifting the all-time record right back to pop music’s Queen of Christmas.
Ella Langley, born Elizabeth Camille Langley on May 3, 1999, in Hope Hull, Alabama, is a country singer-songwriter who has quickly risen to become one of the genre’s biggest stars . She moved to Nashville in 2019 to pursue music and signed with Columbia Records/SAWGOD in 2022 .
Her breakthrough came in 2024 with the duet “you look like you love me” featuring Riley Green, which became her first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Country Airplay chart . The song appeared on her debut album “Hungover,” released in August 2024 .
