Despite missing star striker Erling Haaland due to injury, Manchester City battled back from a goal down to earn a crucial 2-1 victory over Luton Town at Kenilworth Road, ending their winless run in the Premier League.

The absence of Haaland was evident early on, with City struggling to find their usual rhythm in attack.

Phil Foden was denied three times by a resolute Thomas Kaminski in the Luton goal, and the visitors went into the break trailing after Elijah Adebayo rose highest to head home Andros Townsend’s cross.

However, Pep Guardiola’s side responded with renewed purpose in the second half.

Bernardo Silva restored parity with a well-placed shot, and Jack Grealish completed the comeback minutes later with a fine finish.

The win sees City climb to within four points of the Premier League summit, while Luton remain in the relegation zone.

Despite the absence of their talisman, Manchester City showed their fighting spirit and ability to adapt to secure a vital victory.
